LCD production line

The history of Joyo Engineering started already in 1971 with lapping activities. Several expansions in the field of lapping and polishing took place until 1983, when Joyo started working also with glasses and developed a first glass scriber. From 1986 Joyo Engineering went through a strong development as a manufacturer for equipment for LCD manufacturing. On a yearly basis, new machines for this industry have been developed. In 1996 Joyo started also the integration of equipment and the production of integrated parts of LCD manufacturing lines. 1971 Work started with super high precision lapping for super hard alloy at Kawasaki.
1974 The factory was moved to Furuichhiba and the company of Joyo Engineering Laboratory, Ltd. was established.
1975 According to business expansion, the factory was moved to Kajigaya. The manufacturing of 4-way lapping machines and mass-production of mirror lapping for ceramics was started.
1976 The manufacturing of gyroscope parts for satellites has been started.
1980 The company of Joyo Koken Co., Ltd. was founded in Chigasaki. The mass production of glass substrates for photo masks and glasses for electronic parts started.
1982 Another factory for lapping and polishing electronic parts has been opened in Mito.
1983 A glass scriber was developed for cutting electronic parts glasses
1986 A business cooperation with Morohoshi Ink Co., Ltd. was established for adhesive wax production for electronic parts
1986 Development, manufacturing and sales of a glass scribing machine for LCD manufacturing.
1987 Development, manufacturing and sales of a screen printing machine for LCD manufacturing.
1988 Development, manufacturing and sales of a glass alignment machine for LCD manufacturing.
1989 Development, manufacturing and sales of a spacer spray machine for LCD manufacturing.
1990 Development, manufacturing and sales of a TBA preliminary press machine for LCD manufacturing.
1991 The headquarter was moved to Aoba-ku, Yokohama.
1991 Development, manufacturing and sales of a polarization film laminator for LCD manufacturing.
1992 Development, manufacturing and sales of a lead pin inserter for LCD manufacturing.
1992 Development, manufacturing and sales of a liquid crystal sealer for LCD manufacturing.
1994 The name of the company has been changed to Joyo Engineering Co., Ltd.
1995 The capital has been increased to 20 Mio. JPY.
1996 An integrated LCD color filter line has been developed.
1997 Development, manufacturing and sales of a gap adjustment press machine for LCD manufacturing.
2001 The cooperation with Crystec started for sales of equipment and support of customers in Europe.
